As it is Pladec’s commitment to provide children with a safe and healthy environment, we are responsible for ensuring all staff and children follow the health policies and guidelines set forth by the KFL&A Public Health as well as the Ministry of Education. As a quick reminder, staff and children are unable to attend the centre if they display any of the following symptoms:
Should your child develop a fever of 38.0°C while in our care, the staff will contact you immediately. Children must be fever free and un-medicated for at least 24 hours before they may return to the centre. Children who experience vomiting or diarrhea must remain home until symptom-free for a minimum of 48 hours. If diagnosed with an illness requiring antibiotics, they may need to stay away from the centre until 24 hours after their first dosage. Additional restrictions may be required based on the diagnosis, so please inform the daycare promptly.
Pladec is only permitted to administer medication prescribed directly by a physician. Medications must be supplied in original packaging with prescription label displaying the child’s name, medication name, prescribing physician, required dosage, and duration of dosage. A medical note must accompany the medication. Parents/guardians must complete a Medication Information and Consent form for each medication.
Parents are asked to ensure Pladec is informed of any medical changes. If your child has been diagnosed with asthma, allergies, seizure disorder or any other medical needs, please inform the Supervisor and Staff promptly. Health plans will be provided.
